The Children's Guild
An innovative multi-service educational organization serving young people with special needs. The Guild also conducts workshops based on the latest findings in neuroscience for families and professionals.

Practice Without Pressure
An organization of parents and professionals who provide "a safe, positive environment for people with disabilities to practice medical, dental, and personal care procedures" in order to avoid or minimize the risk of trauma associated with these procedures.

Charly Miller
The website of Charly Miller, EMT and EMS educator. This site is full of information about medical risks and consequences of prone restraints and personal accounts of people who have been restrained. The site also runs the entire 1998 series of articles published by the Hartford Courant, “Deadly Restraint.” This is a great resource, particularly since the series is no longer available through the Courant website. Ms. Miller is extremely knowledgeable and exuberant, but sometimes wincingly caustic in scaring people straight about the dangers of restraining human beings.

Mind Freedom International
Based in Oregon, MFI is an organization of consumer “survivors” and advocates who work tirelessly to secure human rights for people in the mental health system. MFI is dedicated to finding alternatives to what they consider coercive and oppressive traditional mental health treatments, including forced drugging, restraint, and electroshock.
